Thanks to many years of cooperation with foreigners, particularly highly-qualified specialists in different areas, we are fully aware of cultural and linguistic needs of any foreigner. Thus every training programme is prepared and adjusted to individual needs of every customer, including mainly specificity of their job, purpose of their stay in Poland and availability.

Our customers study in small groups (no more than six participants), which enables them to get involved in the lesson and enables us to get to know their individual linguistic needs, and to spot and correct possible errors.

Our classes are based on modern teaching methods (task-oriented approach preferred) and modern technologies.

Our customers are effectively prepared for exams concerning certificate in Polish as foreign language.

Exam, certificate and levels of language proficiency

All the courses of Polish as foreign language (individual and group courses) organized by AD-VERBUM Language School are prepared in accordance with the examination guidelines.

You can confirm your linguistic skills acquired during our course by taking State Certification Exam of Polish as Foreign Language on one of three levels: B1, B2 or C2.

Passing the exam entitles you to obtain the Certificate in Polish as a Foreign Language.

This is the only certificate for foreigners that confirms their ability to comprehend modern Polish text and to use spoken and written Polish.

The exam has been conducted by the State Commission for the Certification of Polish as Foreign Language at the Ministry of National Education since 2004. Examination guidelines and the procedure of the exam are based on latest recommendations of the Council of Europe which are aimed at standardization of foreign language skills in accordance with Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Every level of the State Certification Exam of Polish as Foreign Language was audited by ALTE (The Association of Language Testers in Europe) in 2008, which confirmed that the procedure and content of the exam in accordance with the guidelines of the Council of Europe.

Thus once you have obtained Certificate in Polish as a Foreign Language you can be certain that the document will be honoured not only in Poland but also in any other country including the members of European Union.

The certificate enables foreigners to sign a permanent employment contract (e. g. in Health Service or Civil Service), settlement or studies in Poland.

It is worth mentioning that there is an increasing interest of students in State Certification Exam of Polish as Foreign Language by the year. Among the people taking the exam there are clerks, workers of international corporations, managing directors of international banks, teachers, private entrepreneurs and students.

How do we teach?

Our teaching methods are based on the task-oriented approach. Every lesson unit is orientated on different communicative task.

The task-oriented approach enables us to make our classes resemble every day situations that are typical of school, university, workplace and the like.

„The task- oriented approach unified all the concepts typical of the communicative approach enriching them with the notion of „a task”to carry out in various contexts of social life, in which the student may perform. In the task-oriented approach the student is treated as a social unit, who is able to summon all his/her knowledge and competence to achieve the mapped out aim, i. e. successful communication”.

During the classes, foreign students are to deal with such tasks as finding, renting or buying a suitable flat, opening a bank account, sending an e-mail to the client, buying a present, sending a registered letter, making dinner for his/her guests, booking and buying package holidays, as well as with more specialized tasks such as preparing an advertising brochure, a multimedia display or a speech for a scientific or business conference.

Grammatical structures that are learned during the classes serves as the means to carry out the task correctly and not the end in itself.

We are also willing to carry out ideas of our students, which are in accordance with their current linguistic needs,

Our courses meet the standards of Common European Framework prepared by the Council of Europe.

What kind of materials do we use during the lesson?

- modern textbooks issued by scientific and academic publishing houses

- contemporary articles from Polish magazines, newspapers, weekly magazines and daily papers

- radio broadcast

- Internet resources

- our own study materials both on paper and online (PowerPoint presetations, games, photos, files, sets of exercises).

The task-oriented approach is applied in teaching Polish as foreign language and other foreign languages.

The maximum number of participants in every group does not exceed 6.
